The effects of Qigong Fasting on body, mind and soul

What does fasting mean to you?
Have you ever been fasting before and what has your experience been like?

The factual definition of fasting is “refraining from either food, drink, or both at your own will for a definite span of time. It could be done partially for some particular food or as total abstention, in which no food or liquid is consumed for one or more days.”

The tradition of fasting can be traced back many centuries. While the duration, practice, and specific reasons differ, many religions and different cultures practice fasting.

Fasting in the Zhineng Qigong context means striving for mental clarity, physical strength and emotional balance by replacing solid food intake with Qi nourishment. By refraining from external solid food, the body enters a state if relaxation and purity, it opens up to Qi energy and allows mind, body and emotions to nourish deeply from inside and directly from the universe. At the same time inner peace and mental clarity are strengthened and one’s emotions are balanced.

Qigong fasting allows us to repair our body cells, cleanse and detoxify our digestive system, thus reactivating our self-healing processes and strengthening our body’s natural immune system.

Besides the many toxic ingredients we take in when eating, and even when trying to eat healthy, we all know that eating can be a distraction. When we experience a long period without food and put ourselves in the position of observer of our own minds, we actually become more mindful, we enter a more conscious state allowing us to observe our thoughts, emotions and sensations on a much deeper level.

We leave our daily eating routines and use the time to re-evaluate and manifest our intentions instead. We strive for a state of non-distraction where our intentions are clear. We become more aware of nature and the qi fields around us. We open up to external and internal Qi nourishment. Our life force is re- nourished and built up in a refreshing way. It’s a very powerful state to be in!

Would it not be wonderful to practice Qigong fasting in a naturally beautiful environment? We would like to invite you to join us and Master Jianshe Liu from Hainan (China) for a Qigong Fasting retreat on Northern Germany’s beautiful island of Juist from 3-10 August 2019. During this retreat we will be practising gentle Zhineng Qigong Level 1 exercises, practise individual fasting, learn about Qi nourishing, and enjoy resting times as well as energising walks along the beach.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This course can also be booked without you taking part in the Qi fasting. If you want to join us for the Qigong Fasting Retreat, we advise you to discuss the best fasting approach with your doctor or alternative natural health practitioner.

If you are interested in joining us on this Qigong fasting journey, please email britta@bodyandmindfactory.com to register or visit our website for more information on this retreat.

We achieve the true qigong healing for ourselves by completly accepting ourselves. We are keen to accept everything in our life, even the sufferring! True qigong healing means to stop fighting with ourselves, and even give up the fight against our illness. In this state, we start to totally relax and open ourselves to the universe (the qifield).
